Hi guys n gals!

Got a call from my panicked family member...

She was driving her discovery (300tdi) and when she reversed nothing.. It just revs... Then when going home she put it in 5th and the same I just revs, 1 to 4 are fine.

I saw a test oh here for going from 5 to neutral and listening for a click which we hear.

Could this be a simple clutch problem or sign of something bigger?

Any help is appreciated... And she is home now

its quite possible rear of layshaft has sheared in the gear box, can be quite an easy fix once box is removed for any landy gear box specialist

Check theres plenty of oil in the first instance
