Hi there and welcome!!
Remember it's nearly 2 decades old. Look for rust, look for hidden rust under under body seal etc.. check MOT history online

I see you are just down the road from me, I'm in Oakengates.
Can't help with the faults to look out for though but isn't that the one that suffers from rear chassis rot?

Hi Flossie, ha ha, yeah, In a youtube video of what to watch for, the rear rails are a must to check out apparently.

Chassis rust rear rails worst check all over, body mounts, anywhere mud and water get trapped TY

Thanks Tyregeezer, this thing has a tow hitch. I suspect the previous owner was guilty of equestrianism so mud is a definite maybe.

Thanks Hippo, buyers guide will be great. Plenty of time to read it too, as the one I was going to look at was sold just as I was on the way to eyeball it...!

Hi and welcome!

As mentioned, rust is the main issue, especially in the rear chassis. But also check the sills, inner front and rear wings and arches too. Sunroofs leak, check for oil in the injector loom (easy fix) which causes lumpy running and if fitted with ACE, the condition of the pipes as these are expensive.

If buying someone else’s modified vehicle, check for off road damage underneath and that the modifications have been done properly...

Let us know how you get on.

If you own a diagnostic tester, take it with you to check for fault codes.
If there are faults in the system, you can negotiate a lower price. ;)
