Hi All. Just got my first landy. she a 1964 2 1/4 petrol.
A friend of mine brought her 6 months ago then seizes it solid. he fitted a replacement engine 2 weeks ago and seized it again......... got here for a song.. just stripping the engine now. Regrind on the crank needed. The big ends were welded to the crank. i will keep you updated and look forward to talking to you all and picking your brains.

How the hell does one manage to do that? Unless your friend has absolutely no mechanical sympathy, nor a working temp gauge, nor oil warning light etc. Perhpas there was no coolant in the system? A telltale geyser of steam should have given the game away, hopefully whilst the engine was still living.
Mind you, I've never owned a vehicle of such an age, especially a Landy 2.25 petrol, so perhaps they can spontaneously seize?

Happy Roving of Lands when you get her running again!
