Hi all!!

I have a 2003 Freelander,1.8 petrol.

Within the last couple of days, it has developed a juddering clutch pedal,(pushing it down AND releasing it), "pull away" judder and a horrible whining noise mainly in 1st and 2nd gear, (almost the same noise from the straight-cut reverse gear!!).

Are gearbox failures common? Or is this all clutch related?

Any help will be much appreciated!!

first thing yu do - ALWAYS on hippoos is check the VCU search: for willo method) if its ok then let us know.

OK. Does that mean, mark 2 lines. 1 on the prop, 1 on the VC housing.
Drive it and check if they move out of line???

If they are then OK, Or if they are it's fubar'd??

sort of - yu will have to read the instructions. they should move out of line.
