yo dudes,im a newbie to this forum and to my disco, ive had a problem with my disco so i took off the old lift pump...when its bolted up the actuator arm is pressed up against the cam,and so theres only about 1/2 inch of pumping from the handle, when its removed thew pump handle has loads of pumping travel.because the actuator arm is all the way downso i have to run the bolts up with a ratchet,is this correct or do i need some sort of a spacer so the actuator doesnt move till the lobe comes round...does that make sense????.......cheers in advance......oldiguana

providing that you have not left anything on the old pump, yes the pump is normally under pressure at all times, otherwise it would rattle like hell whacking the cam every time. If you turn the engine you should be able to make it easier to fit. romping it in with a ratchet is kind of dodgy you can damage the pump, feed it in by hand.
