My v8 disco is rubbish offroad, as its too low, not only this it handles like a boat on road as the suspension is so soggy, could i fix this with hd lift springs or would i need the shocks aswell, im trying to do this cheaply as im a student and v8s arent cheap to start with!

A suspension lift wont actually give you any more ground clearnce as ur diffs are the lowest point of the motor and they obviously don't move. What a suspension lift will give you is much better articulation and the ability to ride over/through bigger dips/rises in the ground without having wheels leave the floor.

To get your diffs off the deck you'll need bigger tyres. If you do a suspension lift always fit the right shocks for the amount of travel you need, or use new mounts on standard shocks.

Springs will affect the ride, but handling is in so many other areas, shocks included. They can firm up the ride and response but I would look at other things first, like bushes and such.

Nothing wrong with discos off road , just need to know your limits and the cars , Ive been everywhere a defender can go and some and mine is standard as they come ,, . Save your money and get a nice set of tyres and bushes . and blank off the egr valve . .
