I am Dave and need some help anyone .. my discovery 3 has started pumping out embarrassing black smoke and fails to accelerate .. it started after I put some diesel in (£50) worth .. is that a coincidence or something more .. thanks

If it's a petrol engine... YES :~{ Many moons ago, I had a similar experience which turned out to be a dislodged turbo pipe IIRC. Hope yours is simple to rectify...and just as cheap too!

Hi there and welcome!
I put diesel in my petrol tank once, years ago! And not much!! Caused a bit of a smoke screen! Didn't run too badly though

Thanks found the large inter cooler pipe split which I replaced however I am getting a whine under acceleration especially going up hill and occasionally lack of power when pulling away could this be the turbo? .. I am not that ofay with motors any ideas would be welcome
