Hi guys,

wondered if anyone had any suggestions.. i have a brand new galvinised chassis on my rebuild, ordered a 200tdi chassis so i can use my lt77 gearbox and have modified mounting system bought for the engine, all built up and going well went to offer up my radiator, but it sits about an inch too high on the wings, i can only assume that my old chassis had the mounts chopped, anyone got any suggestions as to what to do?

Dont really want to chop the galv chassis if i can help it... many thanks!

you bought a 200 tdi chassis and are fitting a 200tdi, rad, etc. then surely it should all fit?

1" high, you got a 2.5NA chassis not a 200Tdi chassis. When I did my engine swap I had to lop off 1" to get the 200Tdi radiator to fit properly.

Oops, in my tiredness that didnt make any sense.. I have fitted a 300tdi engine onto a 2.5na chassis is what i meant to say, is the only way im going to do this is chop the rad mounts on the chassis? :(

totally different reasons but I would have this issue if I chose to fit a 300 rad but I had already decided to fit a full width v8 radiator... no chassis mods, oil cooler in correct place and no cooling issues even if rad gets a bit muddy as its far bigger, intercooler will be performance type either above bellhousing lay flat behind head or mounted in front of rad.... bit of work but a far better rad capacity and no chassis cuts

Cheers Steve

+1

have a search for people who have fitted larger intercoolers. they seem to mount them in front of the rad. search for something like "alisport 300tdi".

means you can muck about with the turbo power as well, if you want :)
