I just bought a new Britpart clutch release bearing that is nowhere near concentric on the plastic carrier. It's about 4mm out as per attached photo. So the thing isn't going to run concentric with the clutch pressure plate and is going to dance about and scuff at the diaphragm fingers. The bearing inner and outer races aren't even concentric with each other. Furthermore the carrier is a sloppy fit on the gearbox guide tube. It's a different assembly to the original one which is like a proper bearing pressed on to the carrier.
Has anyone else fitted one of these?

No. nor would I.

In principle there is nothing wrong with a plastic bearing carrier that regularly and often pushes against a high speed spinning thing ... no wait ... it's bordering on madness.
But it's cheap ... or should I say less expensive than the all metal varierty.

Which is, I think, a lot better (not that I have the habit of resting my foot on the clutch)

So the last couple of times i've replaced the clutch I have also replaced the bearing with one of these .. (other sellers are available).


i've also changed the carrier for a steel one ..


Really ... other sellers are out there.

I return anything which is no good or faulty regardless of price, sometimes they want it back sometimes they don't.
Some places want you to cover the cost of postage until you point out that, by law, they have to pay it.
 
Devil's advocate, fitted one a few years ago while doing a rebuild on budget. Just had the engine out and release bearing is still absolutely fine.

Obviously that one is no good, but doesnt mean they all are.
 
Some of their kit is excellent. The CVs that the coil sprung lot use are the best in the market. There's a few other examples out there. Most of their stuff is meh. And there's far too much crap as well.

Infuriating, to be honest as a tiny bit more effort from them and they'd be a great supplier.
