Yes that would be correct , I got the vehicle at least 7 yrs ago and had fitted a heated screen, wired in the scuttle and relays fitted and fuses. The only thing I have done is fit a switch on the dash ,
LR one . I use Contetech for a diagnostic , fairly comprehensive but doesn't enable the BCU .

First post, You will see a link to the map there.
DO NOT post a request there though , as the name suggests posting there is a cry for help because you are stuck alone on a moorland with a werewolf chasing you and your Landie has let you down. Not because you need help to get your windscreen working.

Obviously you would like to get the LR installed circuit working as it should, I can understand that, but failing to lay your hands on a Nanocom shouldn't mean the end to your quest. As far as I can see it, the main reason to get the system working might be the timing ability built into the original circuit.
If that is the case then you might have to consider installing a special timer relay to do the job for you. Maybe one like this ....

More or less. Just forget about the BCU circuit altogether and wire this one as a totally separate circuit. I think the switch you have is a push button which is all that's required to trigger it as far as I can see.
Press the switch and the relay operates switching on the screen heater for say 5 minutes and then it switches off by itself.
At least it'll give you something to think about.

Need a bit of help here, trying to download diagram of Rave to ask advice from any leccy to try and circumnavigate the heated screen operation , my take on this would be to link the four wires going into or coming out from the bcu and replace the relays for a timed relay?

Looks like pink/orange to/ from bcu should be linked to purple/brown

If I were you, I would try to stay away from cutting wires in and out of the BCU, there are a lot there and it would be quite easy to hack the wrong one.
Left to me, I would just forget about the BCU and disconnect it altogether at the connections to the windscreen at the scuttle and connect my own circuit there instead. The same would apply to the switch and indicator light, run in your own wiring.
That way if anything should go wrong, there's very little likelihood of upsetting the rest of the vehicle.
I've attached a hand scribbled diagram of how I would do it.
The connection to the switch I've just shown as Ground or 12 volts, as required, whichever is needed by the timer relay to work.
On second thoughts I might have taken the indicator light feed from the other relay contact so that it would show that everything is working not just the timer side of the circuit.
