Hi there to you all

It's been a while since I was last on here as the hippo has been running ok(ish) for a while

However the missus is going to be using it for a while and she complains when things arn't 100%

My problem is that when the car is stood over night or for some time,it wont rev and when i try it just gets to about 1500-2000 pumps out smoke.

It is like this for about a mile if that or if i leave it to tick over for a mo then it is fine

Then it runs ok. still does 90+ MPH, still quick from a stand and still pulls 30mph at 1500rpm It is just the few moments when cold.

She gets about 27mpg but is an auto and I dont hang around driving slowly

Also I have a MAFAM P Thing on it but still using the origional MAF

only done about 50,000 miles

so any sugestions.

I know that I shouldnt be reving it when cold as it will knacker the turbo with cold oil it but even after a little while i would expect it to be ok

Hi Dj . . . .get yer glow plugs checked ,sounds like one is u/s,it will start wiff three un smoke till it clears . . . .

sorry it has been a while in replying but I've been rowing with tiscali and they cut me off.

would the glow plugs cause it to not have any power though for about a mile as I thought they were just to get the engine going.
She starts up first turn of the key but wont power up the hill out of the estate
