Had the 4.0hse before and had to get rid as I needed the money elsewhere but I'm a glutton for punishment and had to have another
Got myself a DSE this time and even after knowing what to look for second time around I still missed faults. Done a search but difficult to find exactly what I'm looking for.
Wipers only park occasionally
Gear lever sits to left between 1st and 2nd (sometimes get caught out when trying to find gears)
Bearing noise which I cant find where its coming from (got a video with sound which I will try to find a way to put on so you can hear it)
Relay 12 under bonnet has no cover on it an looks tampered with
I'm sure there will be more but the beast looks great

Wipers will be a duff contact in the motor most likely.
Gear lever will be broken spring in extension turret.
Bering noise could be anything more info needed.
Change relay.

PS Nice wheels.

Would it be repairable or a new motor needed
Did a search on gearstick problem and found loads on the discovery easy fix but p38 seems more involved. Still dont know if it can be repaired from inside or I need to get underneath.
Dont know if the relay has been tampered with for a reason like cold starting problem or something. I'm sure I saw something about this while browsing ebay. I'll try another relay.
Put in a link to the bearing noise
Thanks

ps nice wheels but a large chunk out of the sidewall on two front tyres

gear stick is held in 3rd 4th alignment using 2 x screw with sprung balls in they are adjustable , but they wear bad to ,but be careful as balls are crimped into adjuster screw end and come apart so that ball isnt held in no more ,i dont think to 3rd 4th

Maybe just a bad connection on plug.

Is it worth taking the centre consul out to have a look ? Is anything repairable from inside the cab or is it access from underneath only?

I was out for a good drive in it today and I must be getting used to where the gears are as I had no real problems driving it

Wouldn`t fancy them tyres at speed.... Maybe someone actually tried going up a kerb...

Two new tyres going on it tomorrow and avoiding kerbs for as long as I have it.
My work mate has a full set of 18 inch original alloys and good tyres for sale for 250 pounds and I was tempted to go for those. I'll see how many pennies I have after I sort my problems out
