I had my wheel arch liners off recently while doing a bit of preventative maintenance and, predictably, ended up drilling and grinding the 16 year old mudflaps off.
A shiny new set wouldn't break the bank. Do they really offer much protection or are they just cosmetic on a car which never goes off road (unless you count parking in a field a couple of times a year at the village shows)?
