Well its that time of the year, my freelander is about to go through is inaugural MOT next week, is there any particular common problems that I can should be aware of and check out myself.

I know my handbreak sometimes has trouble releasing if Ive parked it for more than 12 hrs, I will strip it down this weekend

Some arn't bad, depends how they're treated and how old they are.

common failures............

Front to rear metal brake pipes corroded
track rod ends worn
rear suspension link bushes worn/completely disappeared
wiper blades split
blown bulbs
emmissions (early 1.8 with mems 1.9, is it 1.9? I can't remember!! Not the mems 3 ones anyway)
shagged tyres

Never had any MOT probs personally.
150+ K
Used daily
Used offroad
Salt water wading 3x per anum.

Well managed to pass the MOT with an advisory that the back box on the exhaust need to be replaced
