Hi,

bit of a novice so unlikely to try and fix myself, is the fix a big issue? Approx how much parts and labour at a local garage (not main dealer) would it cost to fix?

Cost is nothing.
Just an advisory, not dangerous or it would have failed.
Depends on what play they have found, have a look.

it was an advisory 11 months ago so thinking might need replacing that's all as had more time to come looser I thought?

I just changed mine, there was a knocking noise, it took me thirty minutes and the part cost £11.
You'd need a ball joint splitter to do it yourself but a garage l imagine will charge £30-60.
