Just driven to wales then over to Ireland and back. 1000 mile round trip, it's shown up a few issues that need sorting. Anyone got any ideas on some of these:

  • A knocking coming from the LH side of the front axle when driving on a beach, and green-lanes. Sort of a thud as the axle moves over bumps and stuff, not noticed it on the road though.

  • An occasional rather loud groan as you move off. Done it to me twice when reversing out of a parking space. And once when pulling away from a junction.

  • Oh and kinda worried me when the diff lock light came on at 80 on the motorway, then went off a few minutes later.
Thanks

The thud will be knackered bushes.
The groan could be the clutch on its way out.
Check the diff lock switch on the xfer box. If the switch is OK check the wiring for a short circuit. Look for places where it may have worn thru the insulation.
Hope this helps.

Having done only 63000, could the clutch be on it's way out already???

and I'll look into the other stuff.

Thanks
