So car is back having the steering sorted.
Now I've never had any issues with the brakes but now suddenly the ABS and TC light are reluctant to go off, sometimes they do as usual but mostly they don't. Jumped in today to find no brakes - well no servo assistance. Pedal feels fine but the retardation is dreadful.
I have had a relay under the passenger seat clicking occasionally over the past month or so. Is this relevant?
So what's gone wrong now?

If its got abs check pump relay and fuse. Clicking could be just a duff relay or at worst the pressure switch on the pump. My else appears to have corrosion on tube electrics which did similar

First up I would suggest getting a blink code from the ABS ECU. An electrical fault sounds probable. You don't say if the brake fluid warning lamp is on or off. If it is just ABS and TC then getting the blink code is job number one.

If pedal feels O.K. but no real power it could be the pump has burned out so no pressure or possibly accumulator has died.

It might also be as well to check wheel bearings for play.

When was the brake fluid last changed? Should be done every couple of years and if it hasn't been changed it might be a good time to do it. Buy at least 5l of brake fluid, bleeding the ABS can take lots of fluid, my record was 15l after I replaced the brake pipes. Also, make sure you follow the correct bleeding procedure to the letter.

No brake light just abs and tc.
There is a sound missing from the usual ones when starting the car so clearly the pump isn't running.
I've dug out the relays and I'll try the diagnostic port tomorrow.
Is it clipped into the row of relays or just lying about?
