Hi guys just wondering what is the best cutting compound for a faded 300 tdi bonnet, i tried t cut but it didnt do a great job is there anything better i can use

agree with gman, g3 and polisher is the best way.

Would also depend how far gone it is. saw one recently where someone had tried it and the lacquer went a whiteish colour after a week (was a very faded bonnet though)

As the others said, G3 all the way. But dont have too much of a shock when you see the price compared to T-Cut!!

You tried Mer on a buffer ? I think it's about £15 for half a litre but worth every penny. It's a lot like T-cut more pulls up a brilliant finish which lasts and can be done by hand or with a mop/buffer. Another little trick we used to used on old motors was Jif cream cleaner used to take all the dead paint of and leave a brilliant finish.

Also try a very very fine polish with 1600 wet and dry with a little fairy liquid in water followed by a good quality wax, only ever done this with flat paint and not metalic.
