hi i have a 2001 td5 auto with 115000 on the clock. when driving and slowing down just befor comming to a halt there is a metalic clinking sound . any one any ideas?. many thanks

its the heat shield on !!!!!! bugger cant remember, gearbox or engine mount mine did it.nip underneath you will soon see it.give it a tap and it will jingle.

Either a heat shield as CC said or the front brake pads jingling in their calipers.
