Right I've just bought a shiney new iPad 3 and want to start using memory maps on it. I understand that OS Explorer maps are more detailed than the OS Landranger maps but are the Landranger maps sufficient for greenlaning?

The reason I ask is that I can buy the OS LR maps covering the whole of the UK for £100, whereas the Explorer maps have to be bought by area, each one costing £100 and therefore work out a lot more expensive if I want to have the whole UK. I don't know that I will ever need the whole UK but I guess it's nice to know the maps are already there should I want them.

Or should I try and pirate them from somewhere?

buy the app and pirate maps from somewhere ;);)

On my I-phone the app requires you to "activate" maps at a cost - thieving buggers.

Now the app says "sorry, it is no longer able to buy resources thru this app" sold under false pretences . Use qctviewer - much better.

I read about this on the MM forum, very bad form i think especially if you have paid for them on your PC.

It is something that is causing issues.

Fortunately i didnt pay for mine..........

Obviously i have a friends user licence ;)
