I have been offered a Mayflower FAIREY Winch for my Defender ,I don't have any knowledge of these winches and have doubts if it would work on a Defender.
Can someone give advise on Defenders and FAIREY winches ?

Great winches almost indestructible.
Fairey bought of Mayflower then Superwinch bought out Fairey all three are pretty much the same inside the winch its just the casings look different.
A pic of the winch will confirm whether it will fit the defender as theres also a series version as they are totally different.
The Fairey Defender version needs the bumper as its all part of the kit
Pto is also different obviously.
On the Defender theres several versions of the drive shafts all will fit each other
