I have a Thor engined 4.6HSE which is running on LPG all is fine apart from the annoying misfire at 2000rpm, the problem I think is due to it being a Single point system which was fitted in 2003 by the last owner. Does anyone else run a single point system and got results with it as I am thinking of ditching the system up front and changing to a multipoint when funds allow.

I have changed the leads to good quality ones and have just ordered new plugs.

I am a bit annoyed as the LPG works fine other than this fault.

as it only been recently? try it with the new plugs as mine was the same with the plugs on a single point sytem..

as said in lpg forum, get the ignition in top condition first as this will eliminate plugs issues and also it can only benefit the car. also check the air intake as mine was a pig when it wasn't sealed and sucked in air all over the place, altering the gas/air mix and blowing the gas ring off everytime it backfired, all the way from kent to rotherham!

also you can check the setup of the system, i doubt its been fully checked out since installation. might be worth routing out an lpg fitter to have a look or if your confident, read up on the process.

also if the battery has been taken off it may have reset the ecu to factory default. i suspect mine did when i had the battery off a few months ago and have recently had to set it up again!!!
