friend of mine got a v8 series 2 disco with an intermitent light on dash he says its a box with a diagonal line through it when the fault appears he loses his indicators and a few other things on the same curcuit have any one got any ideas. thanks

I don't know what light you are talking about
see attached pic and get your friend to point out which one is coming on.

its a flashing rectangle box with a diagonal line in the window with the trip and mileage it pops up just in the left corner he has looked in the handbooks but can't find it in there

Aaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh right I know what you mean, I've seen this before.

Is the vehicle auto and are the m & s lights flashing aswell? (No.22 on the pic) If so then its a gearbox fault, this shouldn't affect indicators though

its a manual gear box the symbol pops up in number 19 he loses hazards aswell he had a look at it on weekend thinks he found a loose wire in fuse box but just waiting to see if it happens again its just puzzleing him what that light means as its not in his handbook
