Not for a 25mm or 40mm lift. However a 50mm lift will require an amount of metal cutting and welding.
Worth a thought thanks. Still need to spend money on shock so I'd like to go the spring route

I don't know of any longer springs for the Freelander, at least not in the UK. Give Muddy Mods a go and see what he suggests.

I thought the 40mm lift required cutting too. I would certainly go down the route of lowering the mount to gain the lift. As you still retain the full shock travel. Longer springs or spring packers will reduce the amount of travel. Fine for road use. But limiting off road.

@htr has springs that give a lift (IIRC) of about 20mm. They were from an Aussie outfit, but I'm sure they would deliver to UK (at a cost on such large weighty things) if they are not available there.
I believe he is more than happy with them. IIRC they are a bit firmer that stock.
Have a search on the forum he has talked about them.
They are on a 1.8, you will need (front) springs for a TD4 with the heavier engine. If they do them for a 1.8 I'm sure they'll do them for a TD4 to.

This is what I would have bought. The 40mm lift with the bolts. Don’t think you need the brake lines.

I would also have got some wheel spacers. And probably 16” alloys (the Freelander steels look gash) and some 205/80 tyres.

500 Australia bucks for a set springs. That's a ridiculous amount. Springs cost a few dollars to manufacture tops.
It's impractical to import high value items from Australia to the UK, as there's a 20% duty applied by customs.
Spacers are a much cheaper option, and still give the full suspension travel, which replacement longer springs don't.

Isn't that just the same as VAT on purchases you would pay on locally bought goods?
The price quoted on the Dodinson website includes sales tax which would presumably not be charged on overseas sales - so they offset each other.
When I buy parts from the UK, I get charged the price less VAT, then have to pay GST (our VAT) on arrival here.
The courier cost on those (big heavy) springs will be significant though.
The lift kit is still cheaper though.

That's true. However I can't see anyone in the UK being desperate enough to spend over 500 Aussi bucks plus shipping and import duty on springs especially when the lift is by just 20mm.
It's much cheaper to use lifting blocks and spend the left over cash on some decent tyres.

Taking a Muddy Mods 40mm lift kit off my Freelander at the moment so will have it up for sale soon if you want it. I won't be doing any serious off roading so would rather have it standard. Also have wheel spacers that I will be removing as well. The lift kit did need a bit of space making at the bottom of the openings for the track rods - not a massive issue though.
How much would u want posted fof the kit thanks. What standered springs and shocks do people use then
