My disco 1 has a leaky lower seal on the steering box , mot due in a couple weeks, is it a failure ?

Look most landy's leak from somewhere, its also true yr engine,gearbox,tranny box,difs,streering balls and power steering pump leak it will fail
If the leak is just a dribble then just give it a wipe b4 you take it for mot..

Bizzarly, the mot certificate that came with my Disco had an advisory saying just, " oil leak ".

Not very good on the part of the tester, as it turned out to be diesel from the fuel pressure regulator mixed with fluid from a leaky clutch slave cylinder !!.

Makes ya mad how for so many years Land Rover could fit and sell such a crappy nath **** steering box ,If i had produced a vehicle and fitted a part that's been going wrong for so many years i would i completely redesigned it ........Only here in Britain........
