Ive had this annoying leak from my disco 300tdi, at first thought it was engine oil because the spots on the drive were black but it turns out it was diesel collecting dirt etc as it ran down the block.

Found the leak off pipes were brittle and split so replaced these.

At first thought job was done only today looked again and noticed injector 3 and 4 and the areas below them soaked again

Any ideas what I can check now?

Picture doesn't really do it justice but one side of the engine right down to the sump is wet with diesel

I haven't, are they the ones on the banjo bolt what the leak off pipes attach to or are they on the actual injector.

Cheers

Check they're torqued up proper as well :)

I shall give that a go :p

Failing that Ill try a new set of copper washers as Sean suggested.

Im hoping your right though Langers as the head is only a few months old so you would think the chap who had it would of fitted new washers when putting the stuff back together

cheers guys

You would be surprised what some people would NOT do to get a job finished ! Get new seating washers, they are pennies, like change from a quid when you buy 4.

Also,torque....check the numbers and use a torque wrench, its not a high torque and the shafts tend to snap at the waist section if you screw them down tight. I was recently told (on here) that they are designed to do that to prevent overtightening and to leave enough of the stud shaft proud to grip and wind out.

Have you been using bio fuels or veg oil at all ? Some types of bleed off pipes can be degraded by these.

didnt read properly ,but not likely sealing washer, could be injector body where it screws togeher but more likely leak off banjo washers or steel connecting pipes

Banjo washers is easy enough....replace or anneal, but what about the steel conn pipes ? Straight replacement ? Id imagine that one would want to take everything apart and clean it up to make sure there are no obstructions to the things sealing or physical, visible damage....????
