Can anybody confirm if the latest receiver

a) Stops all stray signals waking up the becm.

b) Will malfunction to the point where it can't stop stray signals from waking up the becm.

I have the latest version and for the first time in 18 months I came out to a flat battery (parked on my drive). Battery (newish) has been charged and has been fine for the last 2 days. I would have thought first signs of malfunction would have been loss of key fob operation (they are working 100%) Or am I barking up the wrong tree!! Cheers.

a) Nothing is impossible if the signal is strong enough but I have seen no reports of problems.

b) Not that I'm aware.

Even new batteries can fail and so can diode packs & regulators in the alternator.

I did a basic test with my meter which was showing 14.5 with engine running and 12.4 having been turned off for a few hours which I thought ok.

Yes, that sounds OK but does not give any indication of the level of drain or the cause of any possible drain.
I'd be inclined to disconnect the alternator and stick an ammeter in series to see if there is any curent drain.

By way of an update. Alternator tested ok and no sign of a drain when it was unused for a couple of days.

Logic dictates that something drained the battery, but since when have lecky issues with a P38 been logical!!!

Just have to keep an eye on it and hope it doesn't let us down just when you don't need it, which it's bound to!!

Could be somthing as simple as the boot light is on!
I say that cos the vectra did it once ! Cost me a new battery and 2hours of auto electrion

Could be the battery on it's way out, they sometimes do strange things.
