Anyone used the select warranty from LR for vehicles over 5 years old. I just got the offer through today but there is little information on what is and isn't covered.

£750 for a years cover

do you see yourself needing 3750 quid worth of repairs in the next 5 years, and what is the deductible?

I bleddy hope not. It's only covered 37k miles so I'm hoping I can do without it for major components. Electrics on a rrs might be a different matter tho. I think you need to pay £50 excess for each claim.

What is the warranty on a new one from LR?

As a general principle, extended warranties on anything from washing machines to cars are a poor deal for the consumer. There are loads of people sitting in offices whose wages need paying, shareholders to keep happy and executive bonuses to cover, all before anything actually gets spent on the end user's needs. It's much cheaper in the long run to try and keep a bit of a 'float' in your current account and bear the risk yourself.
