just got a 95 range rover classic auto 300tdi no acceleration on kickdown however in D working perfectly and 3,2,&1 working fine.where is the cable attached in engine bay,picture would be appreciated as i an a complete novice.

not quite sue what you mean ,kick down cable runs next to throttle cable on bracket fastened to plenum passenger side of vehicle ,kick down happens when accelerator pressed hard and lower gear selected

the throtle cale seems to be on the drivers side on 300tdi is this right?

my post is bollocks thinking of different engine,tis on drivers side on 300, not quite sure what your question is, does it kick down ,engine wont rev ?

I think the kick down only work in drive.

If it has mechanical kickdown. Kickdown cable should be attached to throttle quadrant at one end other end in gearbox.

Trace the throttle cable to the injector pump. Quadrant is the lever it attaches to. Kickdown cable should be operated from that. If it has mechanical kickdown, which i think it will have.
