I own a 2000 P38 Range rover. I have taken the key out and want to lock the car but a message appears saying key in ignition when it is not. any ideas, please.........

my 96 p38 does the same thing,i get over it by putting the key back in and out quick this takes the message off the dash,i think a dose of wd40 in the lock is required methinks but as my rear diff is us theres no rush, bugger n blast.........dave

what is it with these buggers J ,my diff went for absilutely no fekkin reason,i reckon they have a look at their owners and think [i dont like the look of him ,he,s gettin nowt bugger im] its the only rational explanation..........dave

i did heads 3 times last year now its kicked my arse big time. its a thor engine and them like rocking horse ****.

i dont know much @ rangie v8s,a bit @ rover 3500/p6 with su carbs from years ago,all mine are diesel nowadays [economy] bein retired, but from readin on here those thor engine are at a premium, must be cos they allways break?I put limers in industrial engines [perkins ,cummins, caterpillar, detroits, even magirus deutch air cooled but its usually cos there worn out wiv graft,i cant remember any slipping for fun for a start the head holds em down, why cant we have the same thing on a rangie v8? it beggers belief....dave
