Can of worms here, what is the best/highest known mileage from an original Head Gasket, don't want anyone to tempt fate:behindsofa:

I've seen them fail at as little as 25,000 miles but I've also seen the K series with well over 100,000 miles on its original head gasket!! Generally they do seem to fail somewhere between 50,000 and 75,000 miles ;)

Ive seem the, fail within 2 weeks :(. I also know of dealers that wont touch K series, unless under a strict "no warranty" policy

Average seems to be about 70k

'K' series is a brilliant engine let down by head gasket design, new better head gaskets/gaskets are now available that will solve the problem.:)

Liners have to be the correct height above the head before refitting or it will fail again, good garage who know what they are doing will sort it permanently

This^^^^ ;)
Well provided the engine hasn't overheated as that destroys the heat treatment of the alloy!!
