Apart from the big plastic bit with fins on the end of a 200tdi defender air filter, is there any difference between it and a 200tdi discovery one?

Cheers;) :D

Bump!
Ah've just found a very faint part number on the K&N box and it turns out it's actually for a 300tdi and not a 200tdi as stated!
Can ah still use this in me bus or will summit bad happen?
Cheers;) :D

Got some piccies now 'cos ah know ye's like piccies;) :D

200tdi on left- 300tdi k&n on right...

 ;) :D

Course yer can, s'only a 200 Tdi int it? By 'only' I mean it int got no ECU ter confoose has it.

ah cant se as it;d do any danage itll let less/more air in n yell feel if its good or bad when yer driving
dont think it could cause any big bad

don't the plastic fins keep it centralised in the air box, so that the air can circulate all around it? if you fit the 300 one, won't it flop to one side inside the air box?

So it won't make the slightest bit of difference then?
(just makin' sure) Ah was gonna bung it in before ah went tae France and didn't want any thing bad tae happen!

But the placky fins fit, shows it in the pics FFS!
no - they're part of the 200 filter / permanently attached.
I spose you could cut them off the 200 filter and bodge them onto the 300 one.

it'll no flap about Trewy cos there a brace thing that goes up the middle of the filter housin' and the wing nut on the other end tae hold it tight;) :D

Ah'll nip oot and take a piccy tae show ye what ah mean;)

ahhhh
there were only 2 piccies when I looked - 3rd one must er still bin loadin.

Yer'll probably find it goes like **** of a shovel (comparatively!)

You dun't notice yer motor gittin sluggish as the air filter fills with crud, but when yer stick a noo'un in & it can breathe again it feels like a noo' motor!

The next time ye have a look at yer filter, you'll see that the fins ain't 'fixed' (well not on the ones ah've got;) ) If ye look from the top ye'll see three gaps and if ye look along the filter under the fins ye'll see three wee lugs. All ah did was stick a screwdriver in and wiggle the fins off;) :D
