Today was a real step forward for Heidi(well I am in Switzerland..give me a break). I am preparing her for a trip to Morocco in May and have a Safety devices roof rack to fit..hence the bars had to go.
I printed the info and pics from this forum, and went for it. I removed the front visor and surround, and over door grab handles. I only removed the first trim peg by the highlight windows, as well as the A pillar trim. All in all this took 20 mins. I then could simply tease the headlining down enough to get to the four nuts. An easy task...in reverse just as simple. The silicone was a bar steward to remove, and cleaning it out of the holes was time consuming. Anyway. Job is done. New bungs in Place (steel products US) and I am an appy chappy. Two roof bars now for sale price...postage.
