air filter
coolant

all changed car running lovely how often should this be done and also is there anything else that needs doing its on 85k and id 4.6 hse 1997

also got a slight blow on exhaust manifold is this exspensive to fix?

You could try this ....

Change engine oil & filter. We recommend Quality Oil for Extended Performance
Change transmission fluid and filter
Change front and rear axle oils
Check swivel housings
Change coolant if more three years old and not done at 60k
Change transfer case oil
Change brake fluid by pumping fresh fluid through the system
Check and top all other fluids
Oil all door and body hinges
Test battery and replace if faulty
Grease drive shaft joints
Repack wheel bearings unless they have been previously serviced
Replace spark plugs
Replace air filter
Check steering linkage joints. On Disco 1 and Classic-replace any that are still original.
Check brakes
Adjust parking brake
Check exhaust and under car components for damage
Replace wipers if bad
Check lights
Check a/c and heat
Check all accessories
Check washer jets, clean and adjust if needed
Rotate tires
Check for stored fault conditions with Autologic or Testbook
Check operation of O2 sensors, replace if bad
Road test and note other problems

If you have just had the service, did you grease drive shaft joints ?
Easy to do and well worth the while.

Change the oil regularly with good quality oil, if you don't all V8's wil get camshaft damage due to camshaft picking up sludge from gulley.

Keep up the service shedule..........

thanks alot mate excellent help does the 4.6 only hold 5 litres of oil and also is 10-40 semi synthetic ok?

I think it's 6.6 ltrs to fill from empty

Oh and a top tip is to wherever possible only use genuine spares, in particular ignition parts. Some parts are cheaper from Land Rover strangely and others a ridiculus priceb but check first.

The Land Rover parts, spares, Land Rover accessories, all models has been a good supplier so far for me.

Get yourself a RAVE disk it will help.

Hi,
For drive shafts ... read prop shafts... refer to page 675 of workshop manual for a picture.

Under the car between tank and silencer you will see a cake tin and prop shaft, each end of the propshafts you will see the universal joints. between the knuckles of these joints you will find a grease nipple. Grease them all. They have a habbit of being forgotten. Clean them off first before you apply the grease gun.

This applies to Classics as well

Don't forget to ensure the car will not settle down on you while you are underneath. Or squelch
