Hiya sp33der, just got back from our little jaunt to Morocco, where we came back via Mala, Marbella, Benidorm etc and the weather was............................................... ..bloody awful - blowing old boots

You might be interested to know that we were paying between 1.10 & 1.13 euros per litre for std diesel, in Spain, over the last 3 days.

Ey oop Big Dave, have a good trip? How long yer been away? Did you drive all the way up through France too? If so, how was the drive? Heard it's been a bit grim weatherwise over that neck of the woods although I fink October is traditionally wet n orrible. Going over (by Plane, not Disco!) in November to find a house for january's migration. At least the old diesel's a little lighter on the wallet

Hiya Rich, yes just got back on weds night.

I'll be doing a bit of a writeup on the trip but just to say, it was a corker!!!!!

We drove down through France, through central Spain to Algeciras, over on the boat to Tangier, did Morocco, returned via Tangier, boatrip was a nightmare

,(they stopped all sailings after ours it was that rough) back up through coastal Spain, via the Millau bridge and home.

Approx 7,200kms, 33mpg average and NO breakdowns of any kind !!!!

Incidently diesel in Morocco is the equivalent of, wait for it, 0.65euros!!! per litre.

Did you take a bowser to cash in on the cheap fuel? Trouble is if you got a td5 auto you would need that to get back so end up towing the bowser for nowt!

It was very tempting, we did have a 20ltr jerrycan, so with a full tank of fuel as well, we got to northern Spain !!

I took a Tdi 300 auto and she averaged 33mpg over the whole 4500 mile trip !!

whats the price of diesel in france at the moment. Anyone know how much it costs to fill a Disco?

Price of fuel yesterday at Intermarché Guéret was 1.159 per litre for diesel. It usually costs about 100 euros to fill the tank which is 89 ltrs.

To be honest due to the mountain roads (up to an alt. of 2800mtrs !!), the average speed question is hard to answer. When we were on more ordinary roads we kept at about 60mph.

nice, so around 85 english notes for a fill. better than the Uk, Im still paying over a ton.
