I have fitted my defender 110 td5 54 plate with sawtooth alloys and bf 265 65 18 the tyres scrub on full lock can I install spacers ...... Will it stop this? anyone's opinion would they look better giving a wider stance too?

First I would try on the correct forum. Saying that spaces will solve your problem but so will winding out the stops on the hubs, this does lessen the turning circle.
