hey all,
passing through melksham, I've noticed a red defender 90 for sale. Its a 'john player edition', tinted windows, checker platin etc. £3500.

anyhoo, not interested in buying, but just wandered if the owner is on here?!

worth a shot!
 
it has that on the windscreens, at the top!dont know if all the lil cosmetic mods is wat makes it a 'special edition' or if its jus a special edition windscreen!!!:)
 
personaly i have never heard of a John Player edition (as in JPS who used to sponsor lotus F1), but if it were a pukka one it should be in JPS colours i.e. black with a gold pinstripe and the jps logo on the rear quarters

A used tae av a Capri 2ltr s JPS,, an that wis all black wi a thin twin gold pin stripe,,, Ohhh that wis a lovely motor,,:car: :)
 
Early '70s (might have been late '60s, but they were still running in red/white in the 70s)
I think they were the first F1 cars painted in sponsors colours rather than national colours, and coursed quite a stir. They changed to black/ gold in the early '70s.

kinell, I used to do the fire detection and alarm systems in that plant ! Used to f**k me right up as we had to travel there, do the job, then travel home again, all in one day. Still, did get paid travelling time each way.
