Hi guys I've just joined but been lurking for a while, been searching the net for info on the facelifted jag engined v8 range rover but not found a great deal. Am I right in that it has the updated 6 speed transmission?. Was just after some info on them really, don't worry I'm not gona ask that age old question of "Are they reliable" that a lot of people seem to ask lol but is there anybody on here who has one and has any info on the box like did it have a service interval added and the engine is there a lot of difference to the bmw v8? Please don't try and put me off buying one because the bug has well and truly bitten me lol. Also last but by no means least what fault readers work with these models, read up on all comms but think that only does upto 05 models.

Thanks for my Info you guys can give

Try Google, you can get the full spec. Gearbox oil should be changed at regular intervals whatever the service schedule states.
As for the AJ engine, some say they are great and others disagree, but either way they do not take well to LPG.

Thanks I've looked up the basic spec, I'm not really fussed for lpg as don't do a lot of miles really. Is the gearbox a little stronger than the gm Boxes? Only reason I asked about service interval is to see if would have been done thro it's life as most ppl didn't bother because of the dreaded sealed for life!! But I wondered if landrover had added it in by 55reg/06

The box on the petrol was always better than the GM box on the Td6, not famillier with which box that year has, I know ZF produce 8 & 12 speed boxes now.

Yeah it's the box that I'm trying to find info on really, says it's 6 speed but can't find any info on failures, good or bad thing lol I'm not sure

I thought the later jag engine was a 4.2 ?

The BMW lump was the 4.4

The 55 reg was a funny year, some L322's are right mixed up... Facelift exterior with old internal trim etc....

It's a 55plate 4.4 v8 vogue (6) mate
You sure it's got the AJ engine and not BMW? The box on the BMW petrol suffers failures but not as bad as the GM box. Not really my area, but if you search you will find lots of pics from Bemble showing the front shaft unwinding.

According to wiki lol it's the jag 4.4 L AJ-V8. Car I'm looking at is the facelifted touchscreen sat nav model

It's got this engine in it lol

Your picture means nowt to me, however a quick Google tells me it could be either engine but the box is 5 speed.

I'm pretty sure it's the jag v8 but I supose I'll know when I take it for a test drive it it has 6 gears
According to Google it still has 5 gears if it's the AJ engine in 2005, ignorant people often take the torque convertor locking up for an additional gear.

Ah right thanks for that Info i wonder how I could check this when viewing the car, would it say on the vin?

Use Google to look up that year of L322, that's what I just did and it came up as 5 speed wherever I looked.
Bad year to buy as it was in the midst of a changeover, lots of oddities by all accounts.
You should be able to get all the info from the VIN I think, just because it was registered in 2005 does not mean it was made in 2005.
