Hi,

I have a '91 Defender that I have just got. It came with what I believe to be the standard jack-the long type with a 'bar' coming out the side of it. The Landy is fitted with body sliders. With the jack was a long pole (clearly wasn't a standard part) but this is not wide enough for the 'bar' of the jack to fit in to (I thought it was perhaps an 'extension' because of the body sliders??? Am I completly missing something here? The Haynes manual was no help either as it describes the Hydraulic Jack!

Cheers

below front bumper you will see 2 x 1" holes that is where jack goes at front (may have rubber rectangle covers on) and at rear the 2 x 1" holes that are on the rear x member

Don't use a standard landy jack they're crap. Either buy a bottle jack or get an hi-lift / jackall farm jack.

Make sure yer wheels are chocked when you jack it up so as it dunt roll back or forwards cos the handbrake is on the transmission not the wheels.

AH thought it was where yer went ta get yer car nicked. or is that tower hamlet & stepney
