I dropped the IRD oil today and the mag plug looked like this. It's on 135K miles and I have no service history.

Good bad or Ugly?



Nowhere near as bad as my series mind you, lumps of Cog were falling out of that!

After 135K - I would not bother too much - wear and shedding is expected and normal
Change it and inspect again in a few thousand miles - or a few hundred if you like ....
You can always replace the oil - no reason not to .!

Providing all is ok and the appropriate tests are done -
