Hi All. First car and it’s a Freelander 2 Auto SD4

After creeping through traffic or turning out at junctions or going uphill it feels quite draggy and sounds like it’s growling & also gets stuck on revs, I either have to floor it or let it coast downhill for it to sort itself out.

I’m also experiencing power loss for a few seconds (always at the worst time!) I have to push the accelerator several times to keep it going then get a big boost of power.

I’ve recently done a full service and a gearbox oil change. My next thoughts are to replace the MAF & crank shaft sensors?
Pipes and hoses have been checked too they’re fine.

Nothing comes up when it’s plugged in for diagnostics nor have I ever had any messages pop up on the dash

If anyone has any other ideas on how to fix it can you let me know please

Ta! :)

First i would double check the little hose going to the throttle body for any tiny little split, this would open up if you tried to push the car for more power.

If that is ok then i would check the throttle body it's self as the plastic cogs inside can lose some teeth

You can buy a kit to repair the cogs or of cause purchase a brand new throttle body if it turns out to be the problem.

This is the seller i got my kit from, ignore the price he does that when he is waiting on stock usually the kit is about £29.00

You could if you wanted get the same kit from Poland in the link below if you did not want to wait.

I glued and screwed mine for extra security, after some said the glue did not hold completely.
