been having an ongoing problem with loss of acceleration bit like somthing turns fuel off,it runs on tickover smooth but nothing on the throttle.any way my question it did it the other day and whilst doing it i noticed the light on the immobiliser was strobing(sigma m800) then cleared and back to normal,anyone know what normally goes through the imobiliser that could cause this

If it was the immobilizer it wouldn't start,
Could be linked to the throttle sensor, get it on a diagnostic computer thingy and see what error codes appear

the first thing to check for is oil in the red ecu plug -
if there's any there most people change the injetor harness but i don't see why replacing the o rings where it goes through the head won't fix it - and it's cheaper - one of the few parts you can get from a main dealer for a couple of quid - but you do need two of them

Well, the O rings only stop the oil oozing out between the plastic plug and the alloy cylinder head. What causes problems is when the oil seeps through where the wires go into the plastic plug and comes out where the pins are. That gets it into the mating face of the multiplug where it can really cause some shorting.

i assumed - dangerous i know - that the oil passed the o rings and entered the loom - i didn't realise that the plug on the injector harness was suspect
