Hi, I'm with Axa and have purchased a custom roof rack and I'm about to buy some rock sliders and a nudge bar.

Problem is Axa don't insure nudge bars and rock sliders so was wondering if anyone can recommend someone?

It's probably because you called them rock sliders and nudge bar if you'd called them heavy duty sills and a radiator protector they may have been ok insurance companies are funny like that and often not very clued up.

ha ha ha does that actually work if I had a claim?

I've phoned so called specialist insurers before who's "expert" phone operators have no idea what parts are and I've had to explain it to them slooooowly, they generally have a list of approved mods and are very rigid in the terminology used so you need to find out what THEY call something and throwing around terms such as nudge bars may have them imagining you driving down the road with the sole intention of smashing other road users from your path and God only knows what they would think rock sliders are for.
So if you keep terminology to safety and protection it often helps as they are startled easily and rock sliders are essentially heavy duty sill protectors or protector sills if you wish and you have declared and described them clearly.

Just called Adrian Flux and they gave me a good price, said I would call and cancel my existing and call back which I did. Once I've done that I go to process it and they say they don't have me on the system and need me to post proof of my address. ****ing idiots now my car is sitting uninsured :(

Anyone know another 4x4 specialist

Can you/will they accept a scanned and emailed proof of address? as it will be quicker

They asked for a copy of my council tax form which is at home, I'm no longer insured to drive home. Absolute ****ing idiots, why they can't see based on my previous insurance.

Well you are dealing with a broker and not an insurance company, therefore they are 'possibly unable' to share the same information that insurance companies can and do between them selves and of course the DVLA.

It's a shame but it seems you have been just bit to hasty in grabbing a bargain. What a out a cover note? won't they issue u with one ;)

It's not grabbing a bargain, it's because my current insurance company does not cover the modifications that are being made
