have been thinking about changing the boots on my disco, currently using a mix of 205/80/16 road bias tyres and wanted something a little bigger (235/70) with all terrain tread but then I was offered a nice set of Insa turbo saharas which I know very little about. I have read previous posts about how good they are off road but my disco will spend more time on the road than off it.

Does anyone know what these tyres are like for day to day use? Would I just ruin them on the roads?

I have considered keeping both and changing tyres for laning days but i'm just too lazy ;)

ratty and several others are running insa turbo's
I've special tracks and they are better on road than I expected.

I was dead against retread, but have yet to find one complaint about them on the internet-colway different story.

i've got insa turbo's on mine and again i use them for off roading/green laning and also running back & forth to work and the wear on them is very minimal. so if the price is right mate i would go for it and get them. i'll def be getting some more for mine when the time comes.

As said, I run Insa's on my TD5 110. They do wear a bit more on the road than a road biased tyre but I think they are great value for money. They hold much better in the wet than I'd expected too. If the price is right get em.:)

Same as above..
I run insa turbo special tracks and they are brilliant off road, and quite good on road, a bit noisy but even in wet I've never had any problems...

I think stretchie here runs saharas on his disco...he might be able to give you more feedback

Cheers for the input guys looks like Saharas it is :) with luck should have them on my disco in the next week or 2.

Wondering whether it is worth trying to sell my current set up 4 x Michelin road tyres with about 4-5mm tread left and an unused Wrangler AT. Think they are all on alloys although I havent checked the spare wheel (something to add to this weekends job list).

All tyres are 205/80/16 but not sure if there is much call for them. It would be nice to recoup some of the cost of the new set up if I could.

Any thoughts on what they are worth?

Ya won't get much for em but someone will have em if ya stick em on fleabay.

i sold my alloys off mine when i changed to steels and i only got £40 the the tyres on mine had 9/10mm tread on them but as said stick them on the bay somebody will have them off ya

Was that £40 for wheels and tyres?

was thinking of just selling them as a set rather than getting tyres removed and weighing in the alloys

I love Insa's but I didnt get on with Sahara's-not much grip in the sticky stuff, & directionals are a pain if you only have a spare for one side. I went for Dakars & I will be buying them again when they wear out...

£40 for wheels and tyres, it might be worth keeping them for that money.

Picked up the Saharas yesterday. Set of 5 on LR alloys, one tyre is new and the other 4 prob about 2 - 3mm wear (still a good 2 - 3mm above higher wear marker)

paid £150 which I didnt think was too bad :)

that price sounds good mate but unless you plan on using your old wheels and tyres again is it really worth keeping them taking up space in your garage but either way mate its your choice.
