Mk1 discovery couple of weeks ago my dash indicator light stopped working but my indicators are working fine, so fiddled with the indicator stalk and here and there the dash indicator display light came on, but it will not stay on so changed the indicator stalk but the display light still will not stay on when indicating. Anyone have any ideas why this should be:confused:

Why change the stalk your problem is with the electronic relay, they have two circuits one for the external lamps the other for the interior dash lamp it's this circuit that has failed.

Well I changed the stalk because I didn’t realise the problem was with the relay, my initial though was stalk as the light came on if I flicked the stalk, next stop would be the relay.

Simple things first :D so that's the relay and just 30 seconds to change. Make sure your replacement is the same as, if you haven't got it yet.

Ok took relay out and opened the relay up gave it a good soak in WD40, then checked for dry joints, all clean all joints fine put it back in and is now working fine again.

Well done, repair is better than replacing sometimes :D
