Firstly the outside works fine, so that's good!
Inside, I was getting a flash from the trailer light, then.nothing. So I changed the the relay.
The the trailer light then functioned as though it was the indicators flashing until cancelled. This happened for about 5 mins then nothing at all. I guessed it was faulty so got another new one.
This one does exactly the same but hasn't broken.
Any ideas where to start? Does it think I have a trailer fitted?

All help appreciated!

Are the bulbs correct wattage

Next the plugs on dash play up and sometimes the ribbon burns

If you remove clocks-do not tip dash as speedo cable plastic breaks

What do you mean the trailer light flashed then nothing? Does the indicator warning light still flash as it should? If you're talking about the trailer light flashing briefly when you first indicate yes it does this and I've no idea why. Land rover even mention it in their manuals as being normal

No indicator warning light has never flashed. What's the correct wattage for the indicator bulbs please. Seems a cheap easy thing to try.
The speedo cable dislodged when taking the dash apart. It needed replacing anyway and I.have one here to do it so I'll add it to the list!

They're an odd bulb to find but are available on Amazon and the like. Can't remember the specific type but thats easy enough to find if you look up defender dash warning light bulb

I'll get on it, I should check the outside bulbs as if they have been changed to led at sometime I guess there could be an issue with lack of current?
