Hi to everyone, I have just joined. I reside in N.S.W. Australia. I have owned a 1995 series 1 3.9l petrol disco for five years now. Recently i put in a new set of lifters. Now it has a problem with idling. I'vr renewed the stepper motor, changed the ECU, changed the temp sensor, checked leads new plugs, mass air flow meter is reasonably new from UK, oil pressure is good, compression test averaged 141 to 148 between all 8 cyllinders, have checked and rechecked plenium for air leak's. This problem is only at idle after warm up, then it tend's to die down and then rev up to pass base idle then stall, when it start's to play up in smells very fumy and you have to keep the rev's up to get it to run clear, the rest of the time the car run;s perfect, could it be the fuel regulator, injector. I'm out of idea's guy's. I have read a few other gut's problem's with idling and know how frustrating it is. Also a good source in the uk i can get part's. I mostly buy part's from the UK through EBAY. Many Thank's John.:mad2:
