The plugs that came out are NGK bp5es.

Hi These are for the 8.1 same as Champion N12Y. The 8.1 head has markings on it just next to the carb next to one of the cylinder head bolts a figure of eight.
7.1 uses Champion N8 or the NGK Bp6es this is according to land rover handbook

Thx. My head has 7h on it so must be 7:1?

In your second picture right next to 7H on the raised part just in front of the bolt head is a faint 8. Its large and sort of engraved. You have the 8:1 head so your plugs are correct

Maybe someone had the head skimmed to give 8:1.

I think the 7H is just a casting mark. The 8 is the same as my spare cylinder head. Pic attached
