I don't think TD5's with mileage that high are very desirable, the mileage on 200tdi's and 300tdi's don't really effect prices, as far as I can tell
I think that's more because you can't get low mileage 200/300's anymore...
The Audi is worth more definitely and will hold value longer, it's a desirable model whereas the td5 is just a disco, heavy, uneconomical tank of a vehicle that is not very sought after nowadays due to the fuel costs and 'green brigade'
I would ask him to sell the disco and then offer you all cash...

True, and there are very few 200tdi engines knocking about nowadays, most of the 200tdi Disco's have rusted away, been scrapped and had the engine's taken out for earlier Nineties and One Ten's
