best things in life are free my uncle bought it about 6 years back then a couple of years ago he was driving up a hill and the rear prop snapped wich in turns ripped out a brake line then he rolled back into a freelander YES!! finnaly landed up in a ditch on its side somehow the knob

Looks like i best be finding myself a job so i can afford to restore a series when i find one
ye its **** work wise atm, i had my series at 16 done her up ready for when i was 17, lets say it wasnt a perfect car for a 17 year old

Yeh thats my plan to restore one for when i turn 17, i'm going to need to cart straw and hay and feed sacks around because i keep a couple of goats and chickens and ducks so i might as well get something thats practical for that.

nothing wrong with a series landy as a first car at 17
mine was a 62 88" that i did up
my mates loved it we could fit loads in it and go down the beach for the day
cost about a grand to fix up and took around a year
me new 1 has already cost about £500 and i hardlly even started yet
there is no limit to what it can cost for a rebuild just depends how bad it is to start and how far you want to go

have you ever driven an old series??
if your going to use it as your main car id look at getting an older 90 to restore
slighty ever so slightly more useable as everyday car well i do and i love itah tidy

I have spent about £1500 including a Galvo chassis. The S3 was free from my Dad Been in the Family all of its life.
I too am 16 and planning to have it on the road for when i Turn 17 (Which is next month.. :doh: Not a hope springs to mind).
Wan't my advice? Don't bother with one to restore, You end up spending much more time and money than it is worth. If mine was not as sentemtal, I would have bought a S2a and used that whilst doing jobs to it at the weekend (I.e Rolling Restoration). With a rebuild you just find thing after thing and i can't bring myself to put dirty bits back on it so everything gets cleaned and painted.
Btw... Ignore the poof who went soft and bought a 90 Bit of sound proofing and some decent seats with some well oiled springs and they are just as good comfort wise.
